What if Gore won?

I saw Al Gore all over the Oscars last night and it got me thinking.

If Gore won, 9/11 would most likely still have happened. The Twin Towers were almost blown up during the Clinton administration also. Most terrorists do not see or really care about the political differences that divide America. 9/11 was inevitable and a wake up call to Americans. Its the the response to 9/11 that would have been completely different if Gore won.

If Gore won, would he have stood atop the rubble and pumped his fist in the air to rally his wounded country? Would Gore have confidently promised to find the evil-doers? Would he have dropped bombs on Afghanistan and remove the Taliban with force? Would he have declared war on Iraq, a country that had no connection to 9/11? Would Gore and his friends have made the hundreds of millions of dollars that Bush and his buddies are still making?

If Gore won, I think our foreign policy and relations would be better and I think the word "war " would not be used every day.

I do not associate with a political party. I refuse to be defined by what some group of people think is important. What I do support is integrity and a true understanding of what is universally right and what is totally unacceptable.

Just to play devils advocate... if Gore won, would our nation be cowed by terrorists? Would Israel be in even more danger? Would the US have rallied together in one of the biggest shows of solidarity since maybe before you were born?
War is a terrible thing, but think of how bad our world might be if we had gone another way. All you can do is say what if, but really, we are lucky, it could have ended differently, but that isn't always a good thing.

just remember life is good. even if bush is fucking retarded, life is still good. just imagine how it is for some people in other countries. in some other countries the war is in their own home and not in some far away land. to some, their 7 year old children are forced to run while they sit and die so their children can run to shelters so they don't have to fight for rebel groups that they don't agree with.(go watch the movie "nightwalkers").....just a reminder that life in the U.S. is much more comfortable than sooooo many other countries out there. at least almost everyone has running water, hot water on demand, and working electricity!!!

It is good to hear from friends so far away. I was never complaining about life in the US or even Bush. I was wondering what the state of the world would be if Gore had won. I appreciate and understand how lucky I am to be born and live in the US. Please do not misinterpret.

Think about this though. Perhaps, if the US was not caught up in unneeded wars we could be spending more time on helping those you mentioned, those who suffer daily.

i agree 100%. i must apologize for the role alcohol played in my last comment. i think this unneeded wars that seem to be centered around money when it comes down to it (and i'll admit i don't know enough about it)are rediculous. it is our job as average people to take matters into our own hands and help where we can.....without the alterior motives of politicians. sometimes i think about the way things are handled in government and i think it's rediculous, but i'll admit i wouldn't know the first thing about running a country. for instance....9/11....i would never be able to come up with an appropriate retaliation for something like this. i can't imagine having sooo much responsibility!!! not to mention that no matter what, you're always going to be pissing somebody off.

food for thought....
