What if Gore won?

I saw Al Gore all over the Oscars last night and it got me thinking.
If Gore won, 9/11 would most likely still have happened. The Twin Towers were almost blown up during the Clinton administration also. Most terrorists do not see or really care about the political differences that divide America. 9/11 was inevitable and a wake up call to Americans. Its the the response to 9/11 that would have been completely different if Gore won.
If Gore won, would he have stood atop the rubble and pumped his fist in the air to rally his wounded country? Would Gore have confidently promised to find the evil-doers? Would he have dropped bombs on Afghanistan and remove the Taliban with force? Would he have declared war on Iraq, a country that had no connection to 9/11? Would Gore and his friends have made the hundreds of millions of dollars that Bush and his buddies are still making?
If Gore won, I think our foreign policy and relations would be better and I think the word "war " would not be used every day.
I do not associate with a political party. I refuse to be defined by what some group of people think is important. What I do support is integrity and a true understanding of what is universally right and what is totally unacceptable.

Cosmic Dust

The planets in our solar system, the real ones and the fakes ones, the stars, the comets, the asteroids, and all the other bodies that move around the sun are all being sucked in. We are being drawn in by the large expanding star that gives us life. One day Mercury will no longer be seen as well as Venus. The Earth will become unlivable as it gets closer and closer to the sun too. All will perish as our planet disappears into the mass of fire and heat. But, there is some beauty in this. At the very end of its life cycle, the Sun is likely to blow off its outermost layers. It will then shrink to the size of the Earth, becoming a cooler white dwarf star.
In 5 billion years all that is around you right now will one day be spread across space and glow in the light of the stars. Who will be looking up to see you?

What is Success?
"Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it." - Maya Angelou
I have to agree with this statement. To me success is not tied to accomplishments, money, titles, or praise from others. Success is a feeling of fulfillment you get from being true to yourself and exercising who you truly are in your daily routine. What do you think? Are you successful?

Super Bowl MVP

If you looked at the statistics from last night's game and covered the names of the players on the stat sheet, you would see that there were players on the Colts that seem to have better numbers for the game then the quarterback. There was a running back who had over 100 yards and a touchdown and a back-up corner who returned the game ending interception for six.
However, the MVP was still given to Peyton Manning. At first I was not impressed with the game he had. Then I thought more about who he is and what he stands for. If the press wanted to finally give credit to a good guy then let them. The sports world is covered in arrests and allegations. Athletes were once role models.
Manning's win last night was proof that you can be nice and successful. He stands for what is right and leads his team by example. Team sports are supposed to help in the development of one's ability to work with others. Sports challenges us to push ourselves as individuals while we are still apart of a group. Intertwining the team's goals with your own is the only way to achieve, this is what Peyton Manning did. He was patient and put in his time. He grew with his teammates through shared experiences of success and failure. In the end they accomplished their main goals and completely satisfied themselves. This was not what impressed me the most. When asked after the game if winning the Super Bowl finally solidifies his career as great, Manning seemed unchanged. He was already pleased with who he was and the efforts he had put forth up until last night. This is what I envy the most.
